As expected, the day has been canceled at breakfast time. The early decision spared us the drive to the HQ and gave us ample time to consider alternative activities. By morning end we voted for cycling (for once, we voted). Roads were dry, the air temperature was cool, the tour was nice.

2014 World Cup – France: Sunday 25, 45km Race to Goal
We have a winner today: José! First task, first PWC on a wildcard, first win! He definitely made the best glide today after 1h hour spent waiting for the start to open, watching the diseappearing sun and the lowering thermal tops. Now he deserves winning a real task.

Today was reviewing of local conditions. Meaning: take-off, usual thermal, cloud-base and East face of Arclusaz. I am not fond of wind. And South wind is usually the nastiest. We had South-West wind and conditions were close to brutal.
2014 World Cup – France: Introduction
Back to business, again. If you have vacations planned in between Grenoble and Annecy for next week, unlucky you are, the PWCA brings its usual alpine weather over Combe de Savoie. Anyway, I never lived world cup events in France as other world cup events anywhere else in the world. I feel too much at home, the adventures of traveling are missing, not to mention the south american sun. Good point when staying home, I shall easily find activities other than flying, if needed. But, honestly, I cross fingers for this event to be a safe success.
2014 World Cup – Argentina: Conclusion
After, again, a 30h trip, I am back home in Paris. I will disclose a little secret: I prepare the frame of my blog entries before I leave for an event. So that on top of my list of articles right now is this one: « Argentina, conclusion ». I have not much of a conclusion to share because I draw almost none. My flying is there, my motivation is there, my equipment is there, my energy is there, almost everything was in place to look for a brilliant outcome. But, for the second time this year, a dramatic event touched me at the heart and the mind just before taking off for the first task.
